Mahi Toi

Kia Ora my name is Dalton and I’m a year 8 student at Paihia School.

In Te Ngahere we are doing Art. For Art we are learning to draw continuous lines, draw curves, rule straight lines, select colours for effect and blend colours. I really like doing Art and I really think it is a good pattern to do because I love doing Maori patterns and designs. The thing I really need to change next time is concentrating on my Art. Do you like Mahi Toi?

Ki o rahi

In Te Ngahere we have been doing PE. We have been learning how to play Ki o rahi. I really enjoy playing ki o rahi because it is fun and it's just an amazing game to play. The place I really like to be in is the place where you have to run around and hit the pou then score a try in the middle. I really enjoy playing it and I cant wait till go into a real game to verse other Schools. The rules of the game are.One team is red and the other team is blue the blue team will have to try and hit the green bucket and then that will be 3 point’s but there will be two people in the circle trying to stop the ball from hitting the bucket. The red team will be running around hitting the pou and trying to get more points. once you hit the pou you need to run in and get the try its so fun. Have you played Ki O rahi before?

Interesting movies

In Te Ngahere we have been starting to watch our movies. I really think everyone put heaps of effort in to make it to the best of their abilities. The movie I liked the most was The life of Nerds 2. I really like how they had all of these amazing and different camera shots. I really enjoyed the other movies and I hope they all had fun. The best thing about the life of nerds was it made everyone laugh and we all had a good time.

Have you enjoyed watching your class movies?

Interesting Pounamu Pendant Maths

In Te Ngahere we have been doing Maths. We all had different maths groups. I was in Task 1 and group 3. I was learning how to measure the squares that the pounamu overlapped. We then had to find out how many squares the pounamu pendants overlapped inside the grid? The answer I got for all the pounamu grids was 135 this is what I did. I went 15 down 9 across then I multiplied it by 9 and it equalled 135. The pounamu was drawn inside the 135 grid. I had to count the squares inside the drawings. I really learnt heaps because I didn't know how to work it out. Do you like maths?

Short Film

In Te Ngahere we have been getting ready to film our short film. My group was called the Raprap Nation because we were the only ones that could freestyle so my group chose me and Stilly. I really think that we put heaps of effort into our film to try make it the best we could. My job was to make the rap and I used all my time I had to try make my group feel happy. I came back to School and they were proud of me because I tried to finish it before it's to late. This is my Script
